We Need Simple Renewable Energy Resources and We Need Them Now

By Lance Winslow

Driven by steam, hydraulics, ocean waves, hydro or ice fluids can be a great way to make energy. There are hundreds of ideas that need to be explored and thus there is a big need for the meeting of minds online. If not to protect our atmosphere from unnecessary pollution to improve health or Global Climate Change then surely for our unfortunate dependence on foreign oil we must seek other innovative alternative energies.

Funding International Terrorists with soon too be nuclear weapons, is a disaster waiting for a location. I must tell you I agree that we need additional methods deriving energy to propel our nation and our transportation devices, well stated indeed.

I guess in colder parts of the United States, especially in the Winter Time, that we could very easily allow the water to freeze and thus expand to push some form of device, connected to an energy generation system. We know that hydro-electricity is a super way to go and it was invented here in the United States you know.

He uses ocean wave energy, but the same could be done with ice, after all its volume expands and it can separate boulders and crack giant rocks, that is a lot of force? Or steam of course we know is a very power thing as well.

If you change the make up of the liquid or fluid then the temperature could be less on either side of the equation, and you could use sound waves or vibrational energies to change the state of the fluid to move an electricity generator device. Even some gases when bombarded with sound waves that build up in a confined area can create tremendous pressures. Tests have been done with Compressed Helium in steel tanks.

Its time for America and America’s greatest assets, its entrepreneurs and innovators to get us out of this dilemma. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.

Renewable Energy For the 21st Century & Beyond

By James Veach

When it comes to alternative energy, you will find that it is often used to describe many things other than fossil fuels, and you will find that these solutions will fall into a category of renewable energy. When it comes to renewable energy is important for two reason,. you will find that there is a lot that is hurting the environment and you will find that there is a lot of future harm from the greenhouse effect and effects caused by the fossil fuels.

Renewable forms of energy are typically safe for the earth, making them a much cleaner option. Second, renewable energy sources are exactly what their name implies-renewable. Therefore, these sources of energy will not run out or become scarce and expensive, as fossil fuels have. Because renewable energy sources are becoming more and more researched, it is only a matter of time when major energy companies begin their switch from fossil fuels to these alternative energy sources.

There are many different types of renewable energy, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass, and many others. Many effects will have a positive outlook on the environment because there is nothing produced by the energies that could harm the environment at all. Solar energy refers to power from the sun. When you wear black on a sunny day, you will feel the effects of solar power.

Solar power takes this heat and turns it into useful energy, which we can use to heat our homes and work places. Wind energy is one of the oldest forms of alternative energy, along with water power, Windmills and waterwheels were used as early as the middle ages to produce energy, and are still being used in many countries today in refined forms. By using generators, you will be able to convert power into electricity. Geothermal energy taps into the heat from the earth, by using geological hot spots such as volcanic sites, to produce energy.

Biomass is also a very earth-like way of producing biofuels. Biomass means any plant derived organic matter available on a renewable basis, including dedicated energy crops. These crops include energy crops and trees, agricultural food and feed crops, agricultural crop wastes and residues, wood waste and residues, aquatic plants, animal waste, municipal waste and many more to numerous to mention.

Tidal waves can begin to make the energy or power that waterwheels and windmills in the same way. The ocean can also be used for its heated surface temperatures and cool deep-water temperatures to convert heat energy into useful electricity.

At the end of the day, you will find that the only drawback you will find to using renewable energies in the place of fossil fuels happens to be the current cost of use. It is expensive, but it can do a lot for the environment and your own good. Solar, wind, water, and other ways have been studied so that you can get renewable and alternative energies. Most people will agree that fossil fuels are not going to last forever, and now is the time to start planning for the future.

Renewable Energy Sources For Global Use

By Dowl White

The need for renewable energy sources is becoming more and more important every day. Since the beginning of the 20th century, world has become dependent on using fossil fuels for its energy needs. Thus this great demand for fossil fuels has caused an energy crisis especially in the 1970’s. Nowadays, the situation is not too bright either with the oil barrel prices reaching $200. In addition, the pressure inflicted on the ecosystem of the world is also another factor that stimulates the need for renewable energy sources.

Renewable energy source is an energy source that can replenish itself continuously. Due to their nature, renewable energy sources are also environment friendly. There are several different types of renewable energies that can be used in the world.

- Solar Energy for Heating and Electrical Generation
- Wind Energy for Electrical Generation
- Geothermal Energy for Heating and Cooling
- Hydro energy for Electrical Generation
- Tidal Energy
- Biomass Fuels

Renewable energy is very promising to the world in creating new energy sources for global use. Especially solar energy is suited to domestic use as numerous homes across the world have solar collector panels which allow these homes to get heated and have hot water. In some cases, (if you have big enough solar panels) you can also generate enough electricity to power your home appliances through the use of photovoltaic cells.

Wind energy is also very promising, as wind farms are becoming more and more popular each day. A wind farm is construed of several wind mills that transform the kinetic energy of the wind through the mechanical motion of the rotors that transform this energy to electricity. However for using wind farms, you will need to place them on locations such as hills, and mountain tops to have enough wind to create sufficient electricity.

Geothermal energy is the harnessed by using geothermal pumps as temperature exchangers between your home and the thermal temperature of the Earth. Tidal Energy is caused by the Kinetic Energy locked in ocean waters due to tidal flows caused by the moon. As a last type of energy, you can use biomass fuels to generate heat for domestic and industrial use.

What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

By Steven P. Ross

Corporate social responsibility is no longer a buzzword, but a permanent concept in the business world.

This (CSR) has been defined differently by many different organizations. For example:

1. Your commitment as a company to operate economically, socially and environmentally conscious while balancing the interests of your stockholders.

2. How you manage the processes in your business to impact society positively.

3. The different types of activities you engage in and resources you use to increase your profits without excessive use of deception or fraud.

4. A process of integrating social and environmental concerns into the operation of your business, while seeking a profit.

No matter the definition you choose, Corporate Social Responsibility is all about taking into consideration the interest of society, environment, shareholders, employees and all other types of social relationships. This is more than just about staying within the law, as far as your obligations are concerned. It is above and beyond that.

For example, there are certain emission laws, as they relate to pollution, to protect the environment. However, many people argue that these laws are ridiculously low in their standards. As a company, you have to consider how much you’re willing to pollute the environment, in order to secure a profit. What is the balance? You have to answer that to determine your own social responsibility.

Most people approach corporate social responsibility, as it relates to developing community projects, or aligning with beneficial causes. For example, there are many different businesses who align themselves with breast cancer awareness, to increase the awareness and to help secure funds for research. In this instance, they are using their good standing in the community, as well as their high traffic areas to exercise good social and ethical behavior.

In fact, there are many different standards that a business can comply to, if they want to start enforcing more social responsibility within the corporation. For example, there is Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, social accountability international SA8000 standard, and Verite’s Monitoring Guidelines.

In conclusion, I have given you some information on what corporate social responsibility is, and how it affects the business world. Use this to determine your own social responsibility within your corporation.

Is Renewable Energy Technology Really Available to Homeowners

Author: Corrado Vinci

With the rising energy costs and effects of global warming so prevalent today, many people are wondering if there is truth to the concept of renewable energy.technology. There also appears to be confusion between alternative energy technology and renewable energy technology. Alternative energy encompasses all renewable energy sources, but includes things like nuclear power and energy from municipal waste. These are carbonaceous examples. Renewable energy technology focuses on energy that is replaced as it is being used, such as solar energy and wind energy. With that clear, are there truly benefits on a home or small business level to renewable solar technology? Absolutely. Truthfully, by utilizing renewable energy technology on a home level you can save yourself thousands of dollars each year. Renewable energy technology has gained popularity in recent years and it has become increasingly easy to meet your home’s energy needs with just a little handyman work. With the information available about renewable energy technology, it is possible to build renewable energy products, such as a windmill or solar panel, on your own. Do-it-yourselfers are saving huge amounts of pocket change by building and installing these systems themselves. If you have the money to invest in a commercial professionally installed system, in general these are more efficient, however, savings can still be realized, and at a much faster rate, by researching and building your own renewable energy systems.

Renewable energy technology is advancing with each day. Solar electrical systems have advanced from giant roof panels to thin layers of film that are twice as conductive and work with less sunlight. There are now solar powered

charges for cell phones, batteries and other small household items. Windmills have been made more aerodynamic for greater action and electricity generation. Renewable energy technology can even be seen along today’s highways as small solar/wind operation stations powering signs and lights. Many homeowners today are looking into integrating green energy sources for developing more energy efficient homes and businesses. A green energy source is power generated through renewable resources, such as the sun, wind and water. The other benefit of green energy sources is their low contribution to global warming, pollution

and other environmental issues. The most popular of green energy sources is the sun. Energy captured from the sun is called solar energy. Of the green energy sources, solar energy is the most popular because it offers multiple options for use. It is possible to harness electrical energy from the sun using solar panels consisting of photovoltaic cells that convert energy from the sun into electricity you can use in your home or business. There are also solar hot water collectors that use the heat of the sun to produce hot water. These solar green energy sources are readily available and increasing in popularity as most homes and businesses can have them mounted on their roof and they can take advantage of lowered utility costs.

The most efficient of green energy sources is wind. Wind has been used to power water pumps for centuries, but has grown in popularity as a way to supplement home and business electricity needs. Wind is the safest and cleanest of the green energy sources as it produces no pollutants and does not contribute to global warming. Wind energy is harnessed by erecting a turbine that spins in the breeze generating electricity. Unlike the sun, which can be found almost anywhere, in order to utilize wind as a green energy source, you must live in an area where wind is readily available.

Water is also a viable participant of green energy sources. Water is less widely used as a green energy source for homes, as not all homes have an available stream to produce the needed electricity. The Amish have used water to power entire shops using conveyer belt systems, so it is an old practice, but it is still being used successfully today. As with solar and wind energy, energy harnessed from moving water is almost completely pollutant free and is generated from a renewable resource.
